This project started with a 1969 picture of the existing home. At that point, the original facade with portico had been in place. Over time, a leaky roof had ravaged the woodwork and some uncaring soul had rebuilt. Stripping the home of historical detail is never a good idea. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. The important thing is that we completely rebuilt it as originally intended, but added protective measures to make sure the same thing wouldn’t happen again. Using EPDM or rubber roofing we insure a tight roof for decades to come. On top of that, we milled all woodwork out of either cypress or pvc trim.
